CANCELLED - Special Development Services Committee Meeting - June 20, 2025
This Special Development Services Committee meeting will be conducted as an Education and Training session and will be closed to the public as authorized under the Municipal Act.
Purpose
The Urban Design Tour is an important opportunity for Markham Council to see and experience built examples of development in both Markham and Toronto. Led by Urban Design staff, the tour supports the ongoing development of the City’s Urban Design Guidelines study by offering direct exposure to a range of built form and public realm examples. Through this hands-on experience, Council Members will gain valuable insights into key urban design topics, including:
• Mid-rise and tall building typologies
• Retail at-grade
• Townhouse forms
The tour will highlight both successful urban design approaches and common design challenges, offering practical lessons learned that can inform the Guidelines and how we shape Markham’s future developments.
The list of Members of Council is available online at this link.
Markham Council is responsible for setting the policies of the Corporation. It approves recommendations made by various committees through by-laws and resolutions. The Mayor is the head of Council.
